Website – Conclusion

The goal of building a website has been achieved. It is a goal that has been on my personal to-do for many years, and I am proud of the accomplishment.

I set out to achieve four goals with the website:

  • Job sharing for my Safety Students
  • Share Health and Safety Information
  • E-portfolio for Masters of Education
  • Master the maintenance of the site.

With the help of the Linkedin training course, Build a site with WordPress.com, I gained the required knowledge to build the essential framework for the site. I have started to add content to the website and will achieve the goals set forth by the end of the year.

The training accomplished the source outcomes of providing the required essential knowledge, moving my knowledge from zero to having the ability to build and maintain the site. Some problems occurred along the way, primarily because there is a disconnect in behaviouristic knowledge transfer from the course and what I wanted to accomplish. The site is at the point where I am happy with some, but not all, of the details and how the site is functioning.

Overall I am happy with the look and feel of the site which is a direct result of the training provided by the course. Where I am not satisfied is because the course did not cover the material that I required to ensure the site functioned as I had planned. I need to reach out to others to achieve the functionality I had hoped for when administering the site.

Overall a fantastic experience with a few frustrations along the way.
